What Can My Body Do?

The size, shape, color, or gender of your body does not determine what your body is capable of. Every body is different, but if we look at the big picture, they’re all capable of many of the same things! What can your body do?!
My body can LAUGH.
How wonderful is it that we laugh because our bodies cannot contain the joy?! Your body has the ability to laugh, smile, and spread joy to yourself and others, regardless of its image. Happiness is not size or shape specific. Laughter is contagious and has a significantly greater amount of value than the way we look. People will remember what you said to make them laugh, not the way you looked when you said it.
My body can MOVE.

Whether its swimming, running, walking to class, or dancing in your room while singing to your hairbrush, your body is capable of movement. Every body is at a different stage of movement. We do not judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, so we should view our bodies the same by refraining from comparing stages of movement. We should all move because we love our bodies and its incredible ability to engage in such activities, not because we dwell on it.
My body can BREATHE.
Inhale, exhale; we all do it! Your body has gotten you through every milestone and speed bump along the journey that brought you to where you are now. Its capable of waking you up every morning, rejuvenated and letting you rest every evening. Its purpose is to simply carry the admirable person that is inside of it.
My body can DREAM.
So you want to be a nurse, psychologist, or a lawyer; or you want to travel to Paris, Australia, and Rome; or you want to own a car, a pet, or a house. Do you know what all of these have in common? The similarity is that none of them require a specific body image! Your dreams are limitless if you allow them to be, and your goals can be achieved no matter what body you are in.
My body can LEARN.
Intelligence does not discriminate. Your body has gotten you to Florida State University, right?! You are capable of research projects, taking tests, and passing classes and none of it has to do with your appearance. School is stressful enough, let’s not add the stress of worrying about our body’s appearance. Your body is enough!
My body can LOVE.
The size of your body is not a reflection of the size of your heart. Love is one of the most important elements to life and one of the greatest pieces we can share. Every body has the ability to love: their  family, friends, pets, and most importantly, YOURSELF!
